One week to go.

One week to go. Last long run with Linley as company/motivation.

It's funny how things go full circle. My first "long" run was 15km back in Jan. My last "long" run was also 15km earlier today. This time though I'm tapering.

I've run 307 miles since mid Jan. And now these last couple of weeks I've been reducing the distance back down so that my body can cope with 26.22 miles.

The papers are full of heatwave predictions starting Weds. I'm hoping not. Sorry. Running in heat isn't something I've been able to practice this winter and hydration will be an issue for sure if it is warm. A nice cool 10-12degC would be great.

The current forecast says totally dry. Which is great. Starting off at 8degC. Also great. But ending up around 17degC. Which is not great.

"Suck it up cupcake".

I should be able to call on the lessons I learnt in 2015 though. Maybe a short walk midrace whilst I take on some extra fluids. I'll be carrying rehydration tablets for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to pop one in a bottle whilst running! :-)

Anyways, late now. Thank you for reading. G'night.

And if you want to see some video of what can happen, this is a guy I raced against at the London Big Half Marathon. He pipped me on the line. By an hour. He finished third just behind Mo and the other guy. And this news article is him leading the Commonwealth Games Marathon by 2mins with just a mile to guy.

He's fine now.
